The city is opening slowly.

Streets are still emptier than usual, especially in tourist areas. A good time to take advantage of open views.

I ventured by subway into lower Manhattan. Could it be possible that I hadn’t been there in close to two years?

The graceful Oculus stood out against the stark rectangles that make up downtown. When I reviewed my photos, I couldn’t decide whether color or B&W better represented my vision.

Occasionally a lone walker or biker floated across the hot bright street.

I found myself outside the 9/11 Memorial. Like most New Yorkers, I experienced that day up close and personal. I never had any desire to visit there and relive it.

Today I slowly ventured in.
