There are scenarios and moments that feel just so uniquely New York.
Where else but in Brooklyn Bridge Park, with Manhattan and the Manhattan Bridge as a backdrop and among the multiple wedding couples and selfie-taking tourists, would you stumble across a group of young tap dancers? To make it even more special, along comes a toddler to steal their show.
Oh to be a 3-year-old again with no inhibitions, no self-consciousness. She walks straight up to the group. She watches their steps. She concentrates. Before they know it, this little girl has become the group’s lead dancer!
When the little girl’s father was finally able to pry her away to go home, you could feel the waves of joy spreading on the breeze. Perhaps Broadway or the Joffrey is in her future.
